What is white Balance?
White Balance is different sources of light that produce different colors. It is important to set your white balance because it affects the outcome of your photo.

Understanding ISO

What is ISO?
ISO is the measure of a digital camera sensors sensitivity to light.
ISO is seen as grainy when it is a high ISO, and when it;s low its clear.
It is in relationship with the exposure triangle.
 ~Low ISO~
 Aperture-f/3.5
 ISO-100
Shutter Speed-2.0
~High ISO~
Aperture-f/3.5
ISO-6400
Shutter Speed-1/40

Understanding Shutter Speeds

 Slow Shutter Speed: (Blurry)
ISO-1600
Aperture-f/14.0
Shutter Speed-1/10

Fast Shutter Speed: (Frozen)
ISO-1600
Aperture-f/3.5
Shutter Speed-1/200

What is Shutter Speed? It is simply the amount of time a shutter is open. A slow shutter speed would let in more light but it would be a blurry image because the subject matter could be moving. A  fast shutter speed lets less light in and the shutter is open for less amount of time. Its a big part of the exposure triangle because it determines the blurriness of your photo.

Understanding Aperture

Small Depth of Field
Large Depth of Field

Large Depth of Field creates a clear background, foreground and middle ground. Aperture/ F Stop is f/22. Auto White Balance is on. ISO is 1600, and the shutter speed is 1/6 so it lets more light in.
Small Depth of Field creates a clear foreground and blurry background. Aperture / F Stop is f/3.5 . Auto White Balance is on. ISO is still 1600. and the shutter speed is 1/320, so its letting less light in.

I really liked this shooting assignment. The reason why I liked it is because we could capture our feelings through pictures and express our thoughts through objects that first come to mind when heard of. The end result of the project really says something about me. I like how we put all of the 25 pictures in the same grid, and it kind of explains our whole personality. One of my favorite photos is the picture of "sound", which is the wind chime. I like the way I edited the photo because it is sort of dim. Another picture I like is the photo of fire which displays the theme "dangerous".
